Yesterday, I drove to the nature preserve and sang out my negative feelings during the drive, releasing them as they are not to take residency in my physiology. I laid in the sun, rising occasionally for dynamic yoga. By the time the sunset was setting, Kamala was taking the stage to speak, and I wanted to listen on the drive home.
Once home, I drew a bath and spent a good hour soaking. I drank water, lots of water.
Today, many neighbors can be seen on porches, smoke billowing from them. This is no time to numb out. It's time to be clear, grounded, and strong. Show up for yourself first before others, and then be there for one another with clear, grounded strength.
I am so grateful for my resilience. As an LGBTQ childless cat lady, it is difficult not to worry about being the next administration's target. That worry will do no good. It's time to stand tall and proud.
